How It Works

The Matrix Wand™ Measuring System

The Matrix Wand™ is designed to eliminate guesswork in the repair process by quickly identifying visible and hidden damage—without the need for full vehicle teardown.

What used to take hours on a frame machine can now be done in minutes, improving workflow, reducing labour time, and increasing overall shop efficiency.

Why It Matters

  • Identify hidden damage early
  • Reduce supplements and rework
  • Improve estimate accuracy from the start
  • Minimise downtime and workshop congestion
  • Provide clear documentation for insurers and customers

The Process

1. Image the Vehicle

Using the target-less handheld Matrix Wand™, capture a full 3D image of the vehicle with minimal disassembly.

Key measurement areas include:

  • Suspension components
  • Control arms
  • Cradle positioning
  • Toe, caster, and camber angles
  • Strut and knuckle symmetry
  • Sensor positioning
  • Panel gaps

2. Capture the Data

Captured data is transferred instantly using Matrix’s proprietary software.

This allows you to quickly collect both visible and hidden damage data—without tying up workshop resources.

3. Measure Fast & Accurately

Analyse the vehicle using advanced Repair Analysis Software:

  • Measure any point on the vehicle in seconds
  • See through components with virtual 3D measuring
  • Compare against OEM factory specifications
  • Identify “damage” vs “trusted” areas instantly

Accuracy is within 1mm, giving you confidence in every decision.

4. Document & Blueprint

Generate clear, professional reports to:

  • Share with insurance companies
  • Communicate with customers
  • Plan repairs and parts ordering
  • Reduce liability and disputes

5. Repair & Verify

Use the Matrix Wand™ throughout the repair process:

  • Verify alignment and structural accuracy
  • Assist with sensor positioning and calibration
  • Check suspension and geometry
  • Confirm final repair meets specification

A final scan provides documented proof the vehicle is repaired correctly.
